Our HR culture

The Group’s employees are its biggest asset and the key to Altarea's continued success, thanks to their knowledge of the real estate sector and entrepreneurial spirit. Through our innovative HR policy, we strive to provide ongoing training opportunities for our talents and support their evolving careers while paying particular attention to the quality of life at work and sharing the value created as part of our strong social contract.

The Altarea Group is the French leader in low-carbon urban transformation. It boasts the most comprehensive property offering thanks to its unique expertise and recognised brands.

In the climate emergency, there is a massive need for accessible housing, development of e-commerce, energy transition and digital sovereignty. Major changes like these call for new ways of designing, building and living in our cities. This forms the basis of our corporate vision which is driven by strong core values.

At Altarea, you will work for a socially committed group where communication channels are always open and which puts social and environmental convictions at the heart of its business. This commitment is reflected in the non-financial criteria that determine all collective pay, including that of the Group’s executives.

« We have long been affirming and acting to support our most important asset: the men and women who make up our Group! We are currently undergoing an incredible paradigm shift that puts commitment, involvement and innovation at the heart of success. In this context, we are making sure the skills of our employees progress at the same pace as this profound transformation of our businesses. More than ever, internal mobility and training, the integration of young people, fundamental values such as generational and gender equality, and the recognition of individual and collective performance are essential pillars of our HR policy. »

We pay particular attention to the quality of life and working conditions of our employees. We have been awarded the Top Employer certification for the last four years which is testament to the daily support provided by a HR team that works closely with employees.
Being in sync with the expectations of your job and having a positive working environment that is conducive to interactions and collaboration are key factors in ensuring well-being and performance in the workplace. Our head office was designed by and for the Altarea teams: it benefits from the largest green space in Paris’s 2nd arrondissement with 2,200 m² of outdoor green terraces, a full service offering including a social restaurant with table service (the first of its kind in Paris at the time of opening), a Food Court, a gym, a Parisian café and an “Academy room” for training. In 2024 and 2025, “Altarea Maisons” were created throughout France to promote cross-functionality between the teams of the different brands in the regions.

Occupational health is another fundamental pillar of our HR policy. Our ALTAWellness programme pulls together all the Group’s actions on health and working conditions: an on-site occupational health doctor and an infirmary at the head office, a dedicated personal services platform, a social support module for  family, disability, housing and other issues, awareness-raising events or workshops throughout the year on health, nutrition, first aid, etc.

Altarea is an employer committed to gender balance, both in its recruitment policy and career management.

Firstly, we are taking steps to improve gender equality, strengthen internal mobility, promote the talents and careers of all with a particular focus on the careers of older people and women, and attract the younger generations to our businesses. We are mindful of all potential factors of discrimination and have signed the charter of commitment to gender equality in the property sector. We are also developing initiatives such as the “Café des Altaréennes” (inter-professional get-togethers where female employees can share advice, experiences and testimonials). Lastly, we are partners of the “Elles Bougent” association, which promotes careers in the scientific, technical, technological and engineering sectors among young girls in academic establishments.

Since 2013, we have also been signatories of the Diversity Charter, which goes beyond the legal framework for combating discrimination. We also work with associations to break down any barriers to hiring and help young people access the world of work or help more experienced candidates find an interesting opportunity.

At Altarea, we encourage our employees to stand by their professional or personal convictions and so reinforce the Group’s integrity. This is the purpose of our “Tous engagés pour vos projets solidaires” initiative, through which, every year, we provide financial assistance to associations in which employees are personally involved. Education, integration, the fight against food waste, support for patients and research… the projects are varied and practical.
Altarea Commerce has also forged a partnership with the Etablissement Français du Sang, which promotes and facilitates blood donation in the Group’s shopping centres. This also paved the way for a vast blood donation campaign during working hours at our head office which many employees voluntarily participated in.
