Career development at Altarea
At Altarea, you have all the tools you need to continuously cultivate your talents and build a rewarding career path.
A university for urban transformation
With unrivalled multidisciplinary expertise, Altarea is now a leading employer in the property sector. Our HR policy makes employee training a priority, to continuously develop know-how and nurture the talent pool we need for projects today, and in the future, if we are to grow the sector and build up our new businesses. Almost all employees take at least one training course per year at the Altarea Academy, some of which are delivered by internal experts.
In the first weeks of your arrival, you will take part in an onboarding course to familiarise yourself with the different aspects of Altarea and talk to members of the Executive Committee. You will constantly learn and develop through conferences, workshops delivered by business experts and of course training. In addition to face-to-face sessions, you will have access to the Digital Academy platform which offers training on more than 200 topics. These training courses are led by volunteer business ambassadors. And whatever your job role, you will be aware of and trained in CSR issues.
An active mobility policy
Prioritising internal mobility means any employee can have a diverse and rewarding career. We organise numerous networking events where you can learn about different business lines.
Since 2022, events have been organised every year to encourage employees to learn about different business lines and meet colleagues. These include round table discussions on particular themes, personalised skills assessments, experience sharing, and sporting and artistic activities.
There are also opportunities for temporary secondments lasting 6 to 18 months in another entity. These secondments meet operational needs and introduce employees to new environments. It’s a great way to open new horizons.
Sharing value at the heart of the Altarea model
Sharing the value created is an integral part of the Altarea model. It is based on a comprehensive value-sharing system, marked by a proactive employee shareholding policy with :
- The best level of compensation in the sector, with particular attention paid to equal pay for men and women in equivalent positions;
- An incentive scheme based on the same financial and non-financial criteria used to set Management’s variable pay;
- A Company Savings Fund invested in Altarea shares on favourable terms. Employees can further top up their shareholdings if they wish;
- Employees who wish can take all or part of their bonus in the form of Altarea shares on favourable terms, with a matching contribution from the employer under certain conditions;
- A systematic policy of distributing free shares as part of the medium-term plans, conditional on remaining with the firm and meeting collective and/or individual targets.
Gender equality x Café des Altaréennes
Each year, Altarea presents an action plan on gender equality. It reflects the Group’s commitment to recruitment, training, work-life balance, remuneration and career development.
The Group believes that diversity at all levels of the organisation enhances operational efficiency. This is why Altarea has included a non-financial criterion for the number of female managers at all levels in its 2023-2024 Group profit-sharing agreement. It illustrates the Group’s desire to support equal opportunities between men and women, in particular by promoting and appointing women to management positions, and capitalising on talent by supporting internal mobility. In December 2021, the Group demonstrated its commitment to gender parity and the promotion of women by signing the Charter of Commitment to professional parity and equality between men and women in companies and organisations in the property sector.
Since 2023, the Human Resources Department has organised regular “Cafés des Altaréennes”. This initiative aims to encourage interactions between women in the Group (all business lines, ages and responsibilities). These social occasions are an opportunity to share information and discuss topics such as work-life balance or professional responsibilities, and to build professional networks.
